Job Summary

The mechanical development team at Continuous Composites is looking for an experienced, talented, and passionate mechanical engineer to play a part in the next revolution in additive manufacturing. In this role you will have the opportunity to innovate and create groundbreaking technology, collaborate with other engineers in a wide variety of projects.

Your role on the team

The mechanical engineer will work closely with the R&D team to further develop and refine our CF3D™ process via hardware testing and improvement. Daily duties will consist of mechanical design and engineering drawings, rapid prototyping of R&D parts and assemblies via 3D printing or basic shop tools, working with machine shop vendors, and aiding other team members when needed.

What we're looking for
  • ‍Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant field of study
  • Excellent multitasking skills and ability to be agile in day-to-day work
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical knowledge
  • Proficient with SolidWorks and or other 3D CAD programs
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Prior experience involving the use of Mechanical Engineering principles and practices; part design and knowledge of typical manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of statics and mechanics of materials and ability to perform stress/strain calculations
  • Ability to work and interact in small groups with co-workers, customers, and vendors
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills
Added value
  • ‍Moderate knowledge of electrical systems and electronics
  • Experience with FEA tools
  • Experience in Python or Matlab
  • Experience with composite materials and manufacturing methods
  • Experience with the development of structural mechanisms from R&D into production
  • Experience with 3D printing
  • Experience with industrial robotic arms
