Continuous Composites, based in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, has entered into a strategic partnership with Spatial Corp. to develop advanced software for printing high-end composite materials. This collaboration aims to enhance the company’s Continuous Fiber 3D Printing (CF3D®) technology by creating a tool path for printing fibers in three dimensions, an innovative approach that moves beyond traditional 2D layer stacking.

The company is also expanding its operations, moving into an 8,250-square-foot facility to accommodate larger 3D printing machines for large-scale projects. As part of this expansion, Continuous Composites plans to grow its workforce from 22 to 40 employees by the end of the year, with hires in engineering and business development roles.

With a robust patent portfolio and plans to raise funds through a Series A round, the company is focused on bringing its technology to market within the next 18 to 36 months. CEO Tyler Alvarado believes that CF3D has the potential to revolutionize industries such as aerospace, defense, and automotive.

Continuous Composites has already achieved significant recognition, including winning the 2019 JEC Innovation Award in 3D Printing. The company’s innovative approach to composite manufacturing is set to disrupt traditional methods, offering a cost-effective, flexible, and scalable solution for producing high-performance parts.
